The journey of making the impossible possible

Orange garden Ashoknagar

It started years back when a local farmer Mr. Narayan Mandol of Sudhir Nursery  experimented with planting orange trees in the flat plains of Ashoknagar. Everyone thought it wouldn’t work – after all, oranges usually thrive in hilly areas. But with care and the right soil, the garden grew into something special. Today, this Orange garden Ashokanagar stands as a quiet success story, full of fruit trees that surprise visitors.

What you will see

The ticket price of Orange garden is 10 rupees only. Walking through the garden, I was amazed by the variety. Sure, the oranges are small, but seeing them hanging in the Bengal plains feels truly wonderful – a rare sight that makes you smile.

Beyond oranges, there are huge Naseberry fruits, Vietnamese sweet limes that are impressively large, pink jackfruit with its unique color and taste, wood apples, sweet tamarind, Bael trees, and even black jamun so big that just 10 can weigh a full kilogram!

You can also buy some vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower , brinjal, carrots there which are sold near the garden by the farmers. By buying those you can get the fresh veggies and help the local farmers directly.

Now at the end I have to say that the air was fresh, filled with the scent of ripe fruits, and the paths were peaceful. It’s not a crowded tourist spot, which made it even more joyful.
